How to retrieve property money from a Muslim seller

Sir/Mam

Had to purchase a property from a Muslim seller in 2007. Had given a token amount of 20% but we could not pay further as the property papers were not clear, & so we had immediately put injunction on property coz the seller had misguided us.

Now the seller says that he will only return us the principal amount of token which is 20% of year 2007. He says Muslim religion does not permit any interest to be given for property transactions.

As per law too, if we lend money to anyone, we can easily claim some interest on that.

But this party states that they will only return principal amount & no interest....Please assist how can we claim money with interest

You can amend your case and can claim the money paid in advance along with interest.

The amount can be claimed by you within a period of three years from the date of arising cause of action. Please also check the limitation.
