registered post delivery confirmation of legal notice?

Dear Ld. members,

Could you please tell me, how long postal department keeps the record of registered post details delivered by them?

I have sent a legal notice to opposite party in 2007 asking her to join with me, can I now request the delivery details now using RTI act?

Please help, I need to submit the proof of delivery in the family court ...

Yes you can. As you need it for the court purpose it is better you file a petition before the court to call for the records from the concerned postal department from where you mailed your legal notice if your legal notice is registered post.
