NOTICE PERIOD CONDITION DURING PROBATION PERIOD

Dear Sir,

Can notice period condition be imposed during probation period of an employee? Is it legal to do so? What are the position of labour laws & service rules in this regard? Kindly consider it important because several employers used to impose notice period clause even during probation period.
