Can we dispense Manual Attendance System?

Dear Scholars and Experts

My friend is working in a Medical College, which also runs Nursing and Dental Colleges. In which the Management is planning to introduce the Bio Metric Attendance system and planning to discard the manual attendance system.

Is it ok to adopt Bio Metric attendance system in lieu of Manual attendance system. Can any one suggest whether form 25 have to comply or dispense with. Will the Law permit to adopt the institution to migrate to new systems.

PRESUME THE INSTITUTION IS REGISTERED UNDER THE SHOPS AND COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS ACT. THERE IS A PROVISION TO SEEK EXEMPTION FOR MAINTENANCE OF RECORDS IN ELECTRONIC MODE.
