Hello,
My grandfather left behind in the year 1977 a flat (landlord/pagadi system) and the same is still in his name to date. We continue to receive the rent receipts in my grandfathers name; in order to get the title clear, we're planning to transfer the flat to my grandmothers name. Could anybody suggest the procedure to do so? Would we have to pay stamp duty for the transfer?

Dear Author,
File an application to get succession certificate on behalf of ur grandmother in a civil court of ur concerned area. After getting succession, let that peroperty get transferred on ur grandmother name. For further queries u can call me at 9871158578.

If you simply want to transfer name,rest of the sharers may jointly apply to the concerned authority stating no objection if the property is transferred in name of grand mother .or get relinquishment deed of all the sharers in favour of grand mother.
