A driver was caught over speeding on a road where the speed limit was 80 Km/h (Driver was driving at 90). After the Police stopped the vehicle, the driver cooperated with the Police Officers, produced all the required documents, and even volunteered to pay the challan (Rupees 2,000). But even after the payment of challan amount, the Police Officer seized the Driving License of the driver without any probable reason and asked the driver to collect it from the RTO after 20 days. Is the Police Officer authorized to do so?? Or has he violated his status and powers??
