Suffering tenant   07 April 2021

Imaginary rent demanded in eviction suit

I am a tenant in a DDA flat in New Delhi.
No rent agreement with owner.
Oral agreement of 14,000 p.m.
Over the last three and half years, different amounts deposited in his bank account.
Total amount paid is sufficient till September 2021.
But then he files eviction suit. Claiming possession. Files a fake unregistered rent agreement
Claims rent at 26,000 p.m.
claims arrears for 18 months.
I will prefer to leave the apartment.
But this imaginary demand at 26,000p.m. Please advice. Thank You for all assistance

Don't leave the Appartment, you have a good case at hand. Contest the matter through a Good councel and provide him all details about ur payment made to the landlord..!!

why didn't he file suit at first place? or until 3 years? not sure on solution but a rental agreement always comes as a rescue which you must have got it done

unless the agreement is signed by both parties it is no agreement. have you signed the agreement? or has he forged your signature?

As suggested by the experts you find a good lawyer and act accordingly

If you are not interested in litigation, let the matter be settled through Lokadalat Mediation free of cost.
