On demand notice

One of my relative took amount signig On Demand Notice affixing revenue stamp. Now he is refusing to pay. since amount is huge can i go to court? what is the validity of Ondemand Notice? Kindly help if any lawyers are in chennai.

Hello,

If you have a valid document showing that you have lent money to your relative and your relative, later on, refuse / unable to pay then you can file a recovery suit for recovery of your money. Send him legal notice demanding your dues and later on file recovery suit in civil court.

First issue legal notice if he denies file civil suit to recovery amount with attachment of any immovable property if he owned before judgement.

They are not saying they wont return. But several years past still they are saying we will give. not sure when they would give. that is the reason. how long does "on demand" is valid?
