Search for will at sub-registrars office

Hello, my father passed away recently and he left a document in his drawer which looked like a draft will with his signature but no witness signature. The original vanished after his death but I have a photocopy with date and signature. Is there any way to check if he registered a will at mehdipatnam or golconda sub registrars office. He was a judge himself so unlikely he would have left an important document lying around without witness signature.. pls advise
