maintenance

my husband central government service,married a lady three years back. since the day he left never did he give any maintenance amount. he had reliquished a property of 133 sq yards on my name very recently. when asked for maintenance amount he says come through court. how many years will it take for court final judgement?

Whether any divorce proceeding pending? Have you applied for maintenance? Without details it may not be appropriate to answer.

Since you are referring to him as your husband, trust that you are still married. Please move to the courts ASAP to get maintenance and costs for pursuing the legal action. It may take a couple of years to get a final order on maintenance, but it would not be difficult to get maintenance in the interim.

The courts are prompt in granting maintainance, if otherwise eligible. Moreover, it is misconduct for  a Government servant to indulge in bigamy.

file a maintenance case along with interim relief application.  You start to get interim maintenance within 3 to six months and if you are prompt, the case will be decided within one to one and half year.  In Delhi cases are being decided even within one year and interim relief is being granted within 3 months.
