Schduled tribe divorce

My friend is belongs to scheduled tribe and religion is hindu..why Hindu marriage act not applies to him for divorce?

Who told Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 doesn't apply to him for divorce? It applies to all Hindus who are domiciled in India.

Certain tribes totally different from Hindus laws and customs . they have there own traditions followed before family laws enacted.so they r not governed by Hindu laws.

If your tribe follows marriage customs different from HMA act, then your personal laws will prevail over HMA. If your tribe isnt goverened by any personal law or custom of marriage other than hindu, then HMA act will prevail.
