Rights of Property bought on wifes name

Dear Experts,

 I have bought a property on my wifes name with my hard earned money, I wanted to construct a house by taking home loan and I wanted to transfer the property on my name or make it on both of our names, for which my wife refused bluntly influenced by her mother,

 What right do I have on the property and how can I get it transferred on my name? Pls help
