Call from police station

Does there is procedure for asking to come to police station? Can police order verbally to come to police station? How much time he can retain in police station? Can we ask copy of reason for calling to police station?

You would be aware of the issues.

Take help of your own very able counsel of unshakable repute and integrity specializng in concerned filed of law if you have apprehensions.

Depends on the offence.

But you can ask the police to issue you a notice first.

You can reply to that notice or even visit in person and clarify.

But if the offence is cognizable offence or serious enough to disturb peace in society/ harmful to the nation,...etc,

they can directly arrest you.

Read about cognizable and non-cognizable offences; compoundable and non-compoundable offences; IPC; CrPC and the local state police act and state police manual.

you will get the answers.

You may better given facts of the case instead of riddle.

There appears to be a complaint against you and in order to ensure good beating when arrested you should keep annoying the police.

If they are having courtesy of making phone call the that does not mean that they do not have powers to call you by written notice through a uniformed constactly at your doorseteps (or workplace) and that constable may or may not be polite.

@ Mr.Sudhir..... ha ha ha ha....good one.....But probably Mr.Joshi is genuinely in trouble and being harassed.

God alone knows.

Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Advocate)     26 June 2017

He has stated no facts of the case.

NATARAJAN IYER (Proprietor)     26 June 2017

True.

But probably he is already shaken and scared.

Hmmm...On one side we are progressing in leaps and bounds as a country.

On the other side, we have our own people harming each other, with total dedication to harm :)

Sir, many times someone makes verbal complaint. Not serious at all. Now in this situation, I want to know can police call in police station. And can we ask for copy of complaint. He didn't wrote a complaint. And nothing serious. Then?
