Compensation not yet paid for land acquisition

Hi,

My aunt and uncle were owning Land (not self acquired but ancestral property i.e uncle's father's property) in Bangalore outskirts. This land was acquired by State Govt for construction of International Airport in late 1990's. They have been trying hard to get compensation released. Case is in court since 20 years. I have no idea how many lakhs they have paid to lawyer. Both are illiterates. I know their other family members (may be co-owners) have already received crores of compensation. But not my aunt and uncle. They are in serious financial trouble. As per their estimate they should receive a compensation of atleast 50 Lakhs.

I suspect the lawyer is playing with them taking unfair advantage of their illiteracy. Please advice

Obtain second opinion from a very able and senior local counsel specializing in such/property/civil matters.

In case of foul play change the lawyer.

Obviously: If everybody has got the compensation then why one is left?
