Regarding cross speciality duties of doctors

Dear sir, I am working as surgeon in Punjab Health department. I have query regarding medicolegal x Ray reporting. Normally medicolegal xray Ray reporting is done by radiologists. But recently Director Health issues order that xray reporting should be done by any other doctor because radiologists have lot of work load and opinion of radiologists can be taken in case of any doubt. As i I have heard many judgements of court that specialists should do work concerned tobtheir speciality. I want to know if as a surgeon in am authorised to do radiologists work of doing Ray reporting of medicolegal cases? If I am not authorised, what are options we can consider? Because senior officers are threatening us of serious consequences like spoiling of our ACR and transfer to distant place. Kindly give your kind openiopenion.. Thanks

Till such time that radiologists are having ample time to do this work, other doctors may as per orders issued continue to do work which originally was done by radiologists. Not following orders will have repurcussions.

Thanks. I requested about Legal options and openion about laws on doing other speciality work. But your answer does not have any Legal facts. Not helpful..
