Mortgage possibility on registered gpa

Hi Team,

I have a query, I and my brother have applied for a loan against a Property located in Delhi. I have done a REGISTERED GPA in favour of my brother for the said property. The conveyance deed of the property is in my name. Now we are both applicant and co-applicant in the loan structure, now the bankers are demanding to get the GPA cancelled irrespective of the fact that both "me and my brother" are coming in the loan structure.

Need advice, is it really required to get the GPA cancelled when we are submitting both the Registered GPA and Conveyance deed" in original to the bank for mortgaging the property.
