Return of bail amount

Dear Experts,

A false FIR was lodged against me and I was released on Bail of Rs. 5000/- by Police. The complainant got the same compounded and I have been discharged of the offenses.

Please advise if I need to ask Police or the Court to return me the bail money?

Thanks,

LL

Sir,

No bail money should be ever given to the Police, only a bond is to be signed.

Kapil Sir,

As far as I remember, I gave 5000/- as bail amount and the IO filled it up on a form mentioning as bail amount and I had to arrange a guarantor as well. So whatever has happened has happened and cannot change it.

Request you to advise if I can get it back. If yes, do I need to give application to court or the police station.

Kind regards,

Harpal

brother whenever amount deposited in case of bail bond surety it shall not be in liquid amount in other words surety amount rs. 5000 should be in form of FD.
