Hi All,

         Can i govt employee(he is my father in law-retired in 2010) service book details through RTI......

This information will be useful for me in winnin civil suit against him..

Details i want to know:

Pension amount 

last designation

deciplinary actions

Section 8(1)(j) of RTI Act exempts disclosure of personal information which has no relationship to any public activity or interest or which would cause unwarranted invasion of the individual unless CPIO or SPIO is satified that the larger public interest justifies the disclosure of such information.

In the application the purpose of information shall be noted.And u can get all the information which is in service book.It is not at all confidential.

I have come across a apex court decision which bars any type information between employer and employee it is termed by apex court as personal information

A. Kumar - its not personal information, pension is public fund, also other information can be obtained by anybody as its related to public fund & related rti sec.4 1 b. A another civil suit or a writ can be faster remedy. Let me know any prof. Help. I am rti specialist.
