hindu converted to christian

what is the legal procedure for conversion of Hindu to Christianity?

Does it require change of name in certificates also, can it be changed retrospective effect?

It is advisable to change the name after finishing the necessary religious ceremonies. It shall only be prospective and necessary government gazette notification is necessaary to comply with name change and it is also a must to do paper publication in leading english as well as regional language.  The gazette notification and the paper publication are the proof for name change as well as change of religion.

Dear Gunjan, you need not to change your name , changing of religion is your right and you can run for the same. other wise will face the problems , dear your are changing only religion not your idenitity .

Change of religion is your fundamental right under Art 21 of The Constitution of India.

Change of religion & change of name, are Two different thinghs. Please do not mix up or be confused.

No specific legal procedure for conversion of Hinduism to Christianity are there. It is personal liberty. you are free to do it.

For conversion, get contact with some reputable church and Father. After conversion you will get a christian name. You may use it for religious purpose only but if you want to use it for all practical purposes then you have to make an affidevit with an announcement in news papers.
