on divorce

dear members,in a case,the wife told her husband that she will file for divorce citing her separate living for five years from her husband and marriage is irreconcilable !can it possibly be a ground fordivorce?kindly advise with relevant acts and rules.thank you.

That ground won't help her.  She has to prove that husband's bad behaviour or cruel behaviour of both or either mental or physical behaviour forced her to be away from her husband for more than two years desertion.  Otherwise on the ground of cruelty also she can seek divorce, but not on the ground of irreconcilability, as the divorce law in vogue.
