Address being used

Some relations had stayed at our place for 4 months in 2012. They are NRIs and had come down from Dubai.

When here, he changed some bank account addresses to our house address, showing our address as his along with his name. Both husband and wife, some bank letters keep coming to our house.

Even PAN card, I believe he has shown our address for his name.

Though he has his own flat in same locality where his mother is staying. Maybe not to disclose financial details to widowed mother, he does not want to give his own flat address.

Recently, some Income Tax papers came for him, with his name and our address.

Will these letters relating to PAN and Income Tax papers and bank letters create any problem for us, the flat owners.

Please advise.

thank you.

No. not at all a problem for you. If they showed wrong addresses, you can give complaint to the local police. They will equire and intimate to the concerned authorities. Or yourself can do this job.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your reply.

You say that it is not a problem.

But latter part of your answer is not clear, please clarify. They are relations and also staying out of India. Should we ask them to change the address from ours to their own?

thank you

If they are NRIs, then your address is only the local correspondence address in any case. Therefore, you need not worry about any letters coming to your place.

They must have given your address and not their mother's address, becuase they trust you to transmit all the letters to them, while the old mother might not be able to do that. Therefore, you can comfortably just forward all the letters to them through email/ scanning / courier, as per your arrangements.
