Mutual divorce

I am SSK over 65 years oldSenior Citizen, retired, married to Dr. K born 1963

WE are thinkingof going for mutual divorce,

Consent: she will get one Clinic one 2BHK and car, which she has agreed,

We wish to know how long it takes to get Decree

Being Sr. Citizen, withHigh BP, High Blood Glucose, I cannot bear the tension

Can this duration be shortened as we have decided to go for divorce and bieng Sr.Citizen we do not

require counselling.

I believe there is some supreme court judgement shortning this duration ofsixmoths which was mendatory earlier.

For mutual consent divorce period can be shortened only when there are favorable circumstances.

For mutual consent divorce period can be shortened only when there are favorable circumstances. There is cooling period of six months, but praying for irretrevable divorce, court may consider the same.

No. The cooling period is six months, which cannot be waived off. Only Supreme court can waive off this six months period under Art. 142 of COI, in only those cases, which are pending before it.
