Impact on employment due to change in religion

If a person belongs to reserve category (OBC) got selected in Govt. service, later on while in service if the person embraces another religion; will it have any impact on his employment with retrospective effect. Kindly advice.

This should not have any effect whatsoever. If it does then the employer is not practicing equal opportunity policy. The employer could be taken to court. Religion has nothing to do with the job e.g.unless a church priest changes his religion and tries to practice Christianity within the church. this would not be allowed. I hope this helps. KS Johal

If an OBC changes religion and makes claim  under reservation for OBC he may not be eligible. On the other hand if an OBC obtains a job under reserved category and then changes his religion he will not lose the job. This has nothing to do with equality of opportunity under the Constitution, because reservation policy itself is an exception to equality guaranteed under the Constitution. Tomorrow if the leislature makes a law saying that a person who obtains a job under the reserved category will lose the it if he changes religion within a certain time limit such a law will not be against the Constitution.
