Conviction rate in 498a in lower courts

Hi,

I read few posts where people said they were convicted under 498a while fighting in the lower court. I just want to know the gravity of the situation. Does lower court believe on what the girl side says? I mean there has to be a proper investigation, supportive evidences etc in order to prove her assertion.

Can you share your experience in the lower courts of India.?

Please follow Crime in India 2013. Conviction rate is 15% for 498A cases in lower courts.

However in HC or SC it is less than 2%. I request everyone to keep appeals or revisions in HC in-person else you might face trouble.
