Joint trial procedure

Learned Sirs,

What is meant by Joint Trial. In a case that i am dealing as defendant the court has ordered joint trial of two O.S. by two different plaintiffs against me as defendant, as the case is the same. What do i need to do as next step as defendant? Please advise.

Hi

Clubbing of suits will mean that you have defend only 1 suit.

Once you receive the summons, you need to file a counter.  clubbing of suits will normally lessen your load and you need to prove the facts in issue only once.

You can still challenge the clubbing of two suits in the court and request the court to proceed with 2 different suits, if you both the suits have different cause of action and ask for different relief.
