Information of marriage registration under rti

Hi.. experts..

PIO has denied to provide registration details of second marriage of ex-husband to his wife under RTI becuase of Third Party Information.

Can anyone show me some CIC decisions in which decision was taken in favour to reveal the marriage information as public document. So that we can endorese our appeal before First Appellate Authority.

Thanks and regards

Prakash

Sir,

The correct procedure would be to find out the date of marriage, then make an RTI application and ask copies of the marriages registered on that date.

Good Luck,

Thank you Mr. Mehta..

But we are unaware of the date of marriage even the period we know is about 2 years long, hence, need some sample decisions of CIC in such cases to endorse our case before First Appellate Authority.

With regards

Sir,

Usually third party information is not given under RTI to serve private purposes. Third party information can be given FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES ONLY.

Sir,

The accused has performed multitple marriages without taking any divorce as an act of bigamy. We are the victims of his fraud and we have filed two cases against him in courts where he and his family got arrested and still the matter is under court.

Does it make the information of Public Interest given the reason this infomration can be useful to prove his fraud in the court of law?

With regards

Prakash

Sir,

You have a valid argument, please put this matter, with relevant details and evidences, before the First Appellate Authority. He may consider your request and order the PIO to furnish you the necessary details.

Good  Luck,

Kishor Mehta
