Property on my mother's name

Sir,

During the life time of my father, he purchased 3 acrs of land on my mothers name.My mother is a house wife and she does not have any source of income. My father is expired in 2000

will this property considered as self aquired? Can I claim 50% in this property?

if the property is in her name then she is the absolute owner of that property, you cannot claim any share during her lifetime.
