Property

In the year 1972 a residential plot of 200 sq yards was purchased in my mother's name in Loni area of Gaziabad Distt (U.P). As no one knew about this property so no one took possession/looked after the same. Now we have come to know that the name of colony does not exists and some local people told us that colony was sold to another party and may be the name also be changed of that particular colony. But we have original registry of the said plot in my mother's name. Please advise what steps we should take so that we can take possession of the plot. It is important to mention here that mutation was not done of this plot.

Since you have original documents of the land. You are in the possession legally. why do you worry about it ? If any body physically occupied the land, send a legal notice to vacate and file a suit in land grabbing tribunal in your state.

Anurag you visit the tehsil of loni area and traceout the patwari of that area where your plot is situated for that you have to show your rdgistry to any patwari he will guide you where this land situated and also the name of the concern patwari , meet the concern patwari and show your registry to him and ask him to trace your plot and show it to you whether it is occupied by someone or still vacant plot is there , if it is vacant then o.k. you occupy it but if somebody had already occupied it then make a police report in that ps where land is situated for grabbing of your land .

Mr. Laxmi Kant Joshi's advise seems to be very perfect, you may follow the same.
