Rural land

Please let me know whether rural land in the state of uttarakhand can be purchased or sold in normal stamp papers without registered the same to sub-registrar office. What would be the status of such land sell/purchase? Also, the legal validity of such land if belongs to the member of ST community. Regards-Negi

As per recent High court judgement  all the citizens of the country would now be able to purchase up to 12.5 acres of agriculture land in the state under the Land Ceiling Act.

Following this judgment any person who is a citizen of India can purchase 12.5 acres of agricultural land in Uttarakhand which is also the permissible limit under the Land Ceilings
