A 15 year old child has just been given a letter from the local police station saying he needs to be present at the police station regarding a Section 149 of CR.P.C 1973 - Police to prevent cognizable offences. - Every police officer may inter on for the purpose of preventing, and shall, to the best of his ability, prevent the commission of any cognizable offence.
However the letter does not state what the offence is and it seemingly is related to intimidation from the boys school where he complained that a teacher beat him (and other students). The teachers brought the police with the letter.
Any advice/questions to ask at the police station would be greatly appreciated.
