Ipc 279

I need help.

I had accident early this month in AP on the way back to chennai and case was registered with local AP station - IPC 279.

Now I am asked to come to court by end of this month to pay fine.

Could some one help me on the below :

1.What would be the fine for rash driving booked under IPC 279.

2.Do I need an advocate to pay fine or does it involve filing petition.

3. How long will the fine payment process takes.

I was told by the local police who called me and informed that I need an advocate and it will take 2 days to complete and payment around 3k-4k for the whole process.

During accident : No one was injured, both the cars damaged. I agreed to pay the difference of amount for the damaged car after insurance payout. I gave advance of 15K to the opposite party.

hello,

u should settle the matter on your own but going with a advocate will be an advantage.

fine upto 1k is there in the section.

it all depends on you that how redily you finish off the case.

I want to settle it on my own. Just to go to court, once case is on, accept to pay the fine.

Opposite party is not going to contest against me as it is settled with them.

What are the possible challenges would I face If i have to handle on my own.

Dear Raazaa2010,

The is no need to hire advocate or and not to get in the words of Local Police.

Just simply appear before the Court on the scheduled date, plead guilty & pay the fine max. of Rs 1 K (as per sec. 279 IPC) and completing the formality after taking a receipt of the fine just come to your home.

No need to worry on legal front.
