I intend to start an organization that will engage in promotion of science and arts related activities for the general public. And for that, I will be getting a lot of science related equipment from outside India. Some of those equipment will be donated to my organization and some of it will be bought out right by the organization. But in either case, the equipment will mostly come from outside INdia.
I would like to know which type of non-profit, will allow me to bring in all that equipment with the least amount of customs duty tax. Because, every time the orgainzation brings in equipment from outside India, the customs authority levies a huge customs duty tax on the equipment.
Any advice, on how I may reduce the customs tax burden would be very helpful and very much appreciated.
