Income tax rules on medical allowance

Im an employee of state level apex cooperative organization in Uttarakhand. The organization pay me Rs. 1500.00 per month medical allowance with my salary. The anual medical allowance becomes Rs. 18000.00. Is there any tax rebate on it without investing in  any mediclame policy? If yes, what is the limit and in which section it is permissible. Please let me know the rules.

Regards.

Usually Medical allownce is made a part of CTC.

If you submit medical bills/medicine bills for 1800*12=21600/ the amount paid to you becomes non taxable or this amount shall be taxable at your hands. You may confirm on this from concerned personnel in HR/personnel/admin of your company about treatment of this amount.

For relief under 80D, 80DDB kindly look into attachment.
