I wish to know how much Freedom of Speech and Expression do we Indian Authors have while writing fiction ? I plan to write a book which will be plain Fiction & will be partly based on Match Fixing in Ranji Trophy and partly on life of a domestic cricketer in Gujrat.
Hence, somebody tell me if I can be put to Court or get in Trouble if I use Gujrat Team's name, BCCI, Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy's names but claim that it is fiction and hold no resemblence to anyone? Do we in India are allowed to do so unless its fiction ? Have you heard of any such fiction author going to court for such attempts ?
