My friend was engaged to a girl and marriage date was also fixed.However the marriage was called off by the girl's family as they wanted financial gurantee for their daughter. When asked, they said it meant financial gurantee - and they had their eyes on friend's ancestral property. The groom's side (my friend) did not agree to transfer or make the girl a joint owner of the property, and they cancelled the wedding.
However, after few months, they filed a "Domestic Violence" case !! stating that she lived with the guy and parents and they harassed, didnt give food and threw her out after 1 month.
The question is when the marriage itself was cancelled and she didnt live with them, how to prove that marriage did not happen? Or that she never lived with them. Since invitation cards were printed and engagement ceremony also happened, they have submitted them as evidence.
Please help, she is asking half of his salary.
