Dear experts.. I have sent an RTI application to puduvai bharathiar grama bank ,puducherry. I have affixed court stamp as fee. They had returned the application with the reason " court stamp is not acceptable as fees for RTI act". Herewith I have attached that letters for your reference. Is this correct? Kindly guide me according this. Thank you.

Court fees is not applicable. Please pay with Indian Postal Order. It is more convenient.

State govt have their own RTI Rules which vary from State to State. Apart from the court fee stamp there would be other methods of payment of RTI fee also in the State Rules. So you check from the RTI Rules of the particular State where you intend to file your RTI Application.

The bank cannot refuse coury fee stamp.Yet, instead of making complaints and dragging the matter, better pay as demanded.
