Real estate agent

We are living in a co-operative housing society in Mumbai. We have a members in society who is a real estate agent. Can he fight election of housing society or can become committee member of the society.

He is member first. Is there any rule that members who are real estate agent or doing business is barred from contesting the elections?

Any member can contest the society's election irrespective of their business.
