Hello! In a near by locality there are some people who practice cruelty against stray animals. They brutally hit them with iron rod, cricket bat, wooden stick etc.
I once filed a complaint. However, no action was taken against them!
Is there any statuary provision for the same?
Under which sections they can be held liable?

Article 51A(g) of the constitution-To protect and improve the natural environment including forests,lakes,rivers and wild life, and to have compassion for living creatures.
The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act,1960
Under section 9 of the very act, talks about cruelty towards animals, by way of torturing , overloadong, unnecessary giving pain to the animals etc., imprisonment till 6 months, fine both may be imposed.
