if defendnat file written statement with defamative substance, pending the suit you can file defamtion suit against him for the allegations. You can file both civil and criminal cases. It is the duty of the advocate not to write defamation allegations against plaintifff while preparing statement. In the above situation you cannot file any defamation suit against advocate. you have every right to file case against the party.

Before all that search in google for exemptions if any against such defamatory statements in court or direct to the party.  A written statement is itself valid documentary evidence.

No defamation lies for any averment in a pleading. Of course, there is an option to approach the court to 'strike out' such averments.
