Under section 125 CrPC the divorced wife can get maintenance till she gets remarried or dies or has means to maintain herself.

She is eligible to get maintence until she remarries or start earning. If your ex-wife is highlly educated or worked anytime before marriage then you can request the court for limited time maintence and she will find job in mean while
