Can schools dictate which stream a student must select if the marks of this student are not on par with other.
This student is already enrolled in the school.

Hi! Thanks for the question!

There is no statutory provision regarding the same under which a school can impose a stream on the student, however, every school has the right to take action for the betterment of its prospects and reputation which may include allotting stream to the students if their marks are not good enough. The administration may allow you to take another stream if you can give an undertaking that you shall score a minimum requirement marks. Suing a school or taking action against it on such issue is not advisable as the school has its logical stand in this matter.

Good Luck!
