There is something called "ADVERSE POSSESSION" in India. What it menas is that if a property is occupied by a person for 30 years and there has been uninturrupted,peaceful possession by him/her..then that person becomes De Facto Owner of the property. If you or anyone never started any legal objection in last 30 years, it will be extremely difficult or impossible to claim and get the house back.
