We have issued about 300 pre authenticated invoices but intimation to Central Excise Range has not been sent. It was a technical lapse on our part. What action the Department can take against us?

We have issued about 300 pre authenticated invoices but intimation to Central Excise Range has not been sent. It was a technical lapse on our part. What action the Department can take against us?

Before making use of the invoice book, the serial numbers of the same shall be intimated to the Superintendent of Central Excise having jurisdiction over the factory of the assessee. This can be done in writing by post/e-mail/fax/hand delivery or any other similar means.

Thanks Mr. Ramachary. But if one fails to intimate, what action the Department can initiate?

Pre-authentication has been dispensed with but no. of invoices to be used to be intimated to the Range Supdt before their use.
