Can supreme court writ petition halt trial?

Is just the petition in Supreme court is enough to halt the proceedings in lower court?

This is the technique used by my x to stall the proceeding despite of high court order to expedite the proceeding. There is no supreme court order, her lawyer only presented the copy of petition and asking lower court to hold the proceeding.

Please help

Thank you sir, however Judge is asking to wait till supreme court matter is settled and gave us the next date. As I mentioned, there is high court order to expedite but judge saying this is supreme court matter.

It's even more surprising that the matter has not even been heard in supreme court yet, they filed and the defects were found which are not even rectified in 1 month.

Please guide
