Mou signed

My Brother-in-law has gone in for divorce under mutual consent. The husband-wife have appointed a common lawyer n the lawyer has made my BIL sign an MOU and an affidavit which is in favor of his wife. This MOU and affidavit are not included in the divorce petition. The MOU and affidavit have not been notarized/ registered in court in front of him.

My question is what are the chances that these documents can later be used against him and they can be registered in the court or notarized in his absence.

You speedy response in this matter is highly appreciated.

Kind Regards.

In a court case, there is no requirement of notarization of papers, as they are filed in the court and the Judge puts his initial on all the papers which are filed before him. MOU is always a part of a mutual consent petition divorce and also the affidavit you have mentioned. The Judge will pass a divorce based on these documents and your brother in law has to obey as agreed.
