accused to act as a pleader

can accused in criminal case act as a pleader in his case, so as to cross-examinine and argu the case?

Yes ... he can seek permission of the court and cross examine, plead & argue his case ... but it is advisable that one should do so only if he/she has the requisite legal knowledge .....

YES HE CAN.

BUT NOT SUGESTABLE, UNLESS OTHERWISE HE IS A HARD PERSON AND ABLE TO DEAL THE THINGS PROPERLY.

ANYHOW IT IS LEGALLY ALLOWED.

See section 205 read with section 302 of the Criminal procedure Code. Refer to the case of Jimmy Jahingir Madan vs Bolly Cariyappa Hindley (D)  by Lrs: 2004-(009) 0558-SC: Coram: B.N.Agarwal and H.K.Sema,JJ.

After seeking permission, the accused can cross prosecution witnesses and argue for his case.
