If the union for the welfare of Drivers, then the Drivers welfare Association/Society shall be registered before the Registrar of Societies of your District.  For Union Registration, it shall be registered before the Labour Officer of your District. For Taxi Driver's Union, it requires a minimum of seven members to form a trade union and the application for registration should be in the prescribed form and accompanied by the prescribed fee, a copy of the rules of the union signed by at least 7 members, and shall be registered before the Deputy Registrar of Trade Unions of your District under Trade union Act.  For Taxi Driver's welfare Association, it also requires a minimum of seven members to form an association and the application for registration should be in the prescribed form and accompanied by the prescribed fee, a copy of the rules of the Association signed by at least 7 members, and shall be registered before the Registrar of Societies of your District under Society Registration Act.

There are several kiosks before every Registration office, and there are many consultants to guide you in the matter.   With a very reasonable fee, they may oblige you to get things done on a turnkey basis, as you are not well versed in the process.  As a group you can afford minimum fees payable for establishing such union.  First decide what are the additional advantages due to registration of such union.

Seven (7) or more commercial drivers may get togather, collect their ID /residence proof, select space for office and permission of owner, plan out the purpose of the association and consult a local chartered accountant/ lawyer for proparing necessary documents to get it registered.
