Section 294(b) in The Indian Penal Code. (b) sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place, shall be punished with imprisonment of either descripttion for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine, or with both.]

Any offence committed under the ambit of IPC 294 is a Cognizable and bailable offence, punishment includes imprisonment for 3 months and fine may also be imposed on the person, depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence committed.
