Arms amendment act - blades

Dears, I recently bought a hiking knife and it has 5.5" of blade and widdth is more than 1.6" so being a responsible citizen, I decided to not to carry it. However I am curious to understand more about the Arms act and basically about blades. Apparently any wise person would choose guns over blades for self defense but just curious about blades. Please advise.
