unexamined prosecution witness called by defense in evidence as defense witness is lawful or not?

The Prosecution was sleeping till date and had not examined all their witnesses which lead to closure of their evidence by the trial court and started defence evidence where one of the unexamined witness of the prosecution appears as defence witness, nothing unlawful or illegal.

@KishanDutt Sir why do you say the same statement for every case that is posted for this forum? You are a retired judicial officer & advocate with seven years' experience, right? So how can these questions pose to be difficult for you?
